'A Manifesto for Parks' from Fields in Trust, 16.05.17

Ahead of this years General Election in June, Fields in Trust (FIT) have launched their 'Manifesto for Parks - Putting local green spaces at the heart of our communities'. The intention of the Manifesto, and its timing, is to keep the issue of community green spaces on the agenda for whoever is elected to government.

Fields in Trust was founded by King George V in 1925 with a mission of keeping free outdoor communal spaces accessible to all ages for leisure and recreation. It still enjoys royal support with the Duke of Cambridge having taken over as President in 2013 from his grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh.

The manifesto stresses the importance to the health and well being of local communities from having these spaces.
